Travelzoo

Travelzoo is one of my favorite sites to use as a stepping stone in the search for that quintessential deal.
They have two of my favorite features.

1. Weekly emails to subscribers with travel deals for around the world and also local deals (similar to Groupon).

2. They have a search function called 'Today's Best Fares'. This feature allows you to search by departure airport and see the best flights out of there for the next 90 days to a multitude of cities. It's just fun to look and see where your budget can take you! You never know, you might just find a great deal on a trip to your new favorite place!

Travelzoo searches tons of other websites and travel companies and takes their best deals and gives them to you all in one place.

I have been a subscriber to Travelzoo for years now and I have never been disappointed in their service.
For example, just this year, I scored some amazing tickets out of LAX to Lima, Peru for only $239 R/T. And no, those flights weren't rerouted through Germany to get there. We only had one short layover in El Salvador and the flights were excellent with great food and service and no delays.

So. takeaway message, Travelzoo is a great starting point for planning a great vacation.

I highly suggest signing up for their weekly emails (they do not spam you) and to reference the site frequently.

Introduction

Well it has come to my attention recently that I have a specific set of skills that many are in need of.
I acquired these skills from my mother who was also excellent in this area.
This area is, of course, scoring an amazing deal on travel :)

I have been travelling around the world since I can remember. I have been to six continents now and there is no end to my insatiable desire for another adventure. But, the economy is not what it used to be and so budgets are tighter, jobs are more precious and, did I mention, my husband is a Master's student preparing for his PhD. So yea, travelling is not a huge priority in our budget.

But as I have found that I have quite a bit of downtime at work, I have found that good deals are all around if you just look a little bit :)

So here it goes, my travel blog begins. I will post often great deals on flights, flight clubs, airfare sites that I love and also reviews on deals that I buy and use.

Whether it's a $200 R/T flight to South America or a cheap flight to Chicago, I usually find out about it and beg my husband to go.
